Fred played with The Drifters, Jackie Wilson, Al Green, Ike Turner, Bobby Womack, Donny Hathaway, The Jackson Five, Willie Hutch, Bonnie and Delaney, and Syl Johnson before joining the legendary group Earth, Wind and Fire in 1975.  He performed for twelve years where he served as drummer with other band member Ralph Johnson. 

Fred has also recorded with the notable likes of Ramsey Lewis, The Emotions, Deniece Williams, Valerie Carter, Deodato, and Stanley Turrentine.  In later years, he joined former band mate Al McKay and the L.A. All-Stars, where they have toured Europe extensively.

Fred enjoys spending his leisure time studying astrology and studying the piano.
