NEWS RELEASE from the Hollywood Walk of Fame

    EARTH, WIND & FIRE HONORED WITH THEIR "SHINING STAR"
                   ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

  HOLLYWOOD, CA.--- Award winning musical group Earth, Wind & Fire
  will be honored with the 2053rd star on the world famous Hollywood Walk
  of Fame. The 12  member-group will have their star dedicated on
  Thursday, September 14, at 11:30 a.m. at 7080 Hollywood Boulevard
  (corner of La Brea).

  Johnny Grant, Honorary Mayor of Hollywood and Chairman of the Walk
  of Fame Committee will preside over the event and Bill Welsh, President
  Emeritus of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will speak on behalf
  of the organization.

  Actor/Comedian Sinbad and radio personality Tom Joyner of the Tom
  Joyner Morning Show will be the featured speakers at the event. Accepting
  the honor on behalf of the group will be lead singer/percussionist Philip Bailey
  and bass player, Verdine White.

  Earth, Wind and fire recently completed The Legend Continues:
  Earth, Wind & Fire's 1995 Summer Tour, a 50-city U.S. concert tour
  kicked off in Florida and played to mostly sold-out crowds that have
  numbered as large as an estimated 116,000 at a mid-week solo headline
  date.

   The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has approved the
   below listed name for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

   EARTH, WIND & FIRE - (CATEGORY -RECORDING)  requested star location to be
  7080 Hollywood Boulevard, south side of the street in front of the JFD Building.
  The star for EARTH, WIND & FIRE will be next to the star of Rita Moreno which
   is numbered (67) to the west and a blank star which is numbered (65) to the
   east.

   The star for EARTH, WIND AND FIRE IS numbered 66.  The dedication ceremony
   is scheduled for Thursday, September 14, at 11:30 a.m.
